Eucalyptus globulus is native to southeastern Australia. Its name comes from the Greek for well-covered. The flower bud grows sealed under a cap that splits open when it blooms. Aboriginal Australians used the leaves medicinally for centuries before the plant had a Latin name. The oil is steam distilled from the leaves and twigs. The cooling sensation it creates is immediate and unmistakable.
Paired with lavender, something interesting happens. Eucalyptus opens up the senses. Lavender settles them. In the same bar they don't cancel each other out. They find a balance somewhere in between. The result shifts depending on when you use it and what you need.
